Points are accrued by PacWest members for the purpose of determining year-end awards which are presented at each year's Finals race in June. PacWest awards points in the Open, Amateur, Youth, Adult, and Masters classes. Points are calculated by division.
Each rider must sign a completed application and pay membership fees before any points will be counted. Points are awarded for every race a member enters, as long as PacWest is the primary sponsor or the race is co-sanctioned by PacWest. Points are calculated as follows:
For weekend races (Friday – Sunday) a rider will receive 50 points for entering a race category and finishing with a valid time (i.e., any result other than a no-time); 25 points will be awarded for entering a race category on weekdays (Monday – Thursday). Riders who receive a no-time, will be awarded 1 point in order for us to maintain information about what races a rider has entered.
In addition, one point will be allocated for every dollar won.
Points are accumulated in each division within a class. Points are on the person only. For members with more then one horse covered in their memberships, your first horse will always receive points from your fastest time. Second and subsequent horses will receive the next fastest and so on.
For classes which require a nomination fee (Youth and Masters), points (and year-end awards) will be provided only to those members who paid the nomination fee. |
